Boots come off. That's the whole problem with dog footwear, and it's usually the ankle that fails — one strap, one point of tension, and the boot works loose over a few hundred metres.

The POD holds on in two places instead of one. A segmented lace pulls the knit upper evenly around the foot, then a webbing strap with a square soft-rubber buckle closes over the top. Pressure spreads rather than pinching, and the boot stays where you put it.

The upper is a sportswear knit — the same kind of stretch fabric you'd find in a running sock, soft against the skin and flexible enough that the paw still moves. The sole is natural rubber with a textured, crinkled finish for grip on road, gravel and wet ground.

Measure the paw rather than guessing from your dog's weight. Lie your dog down so there's no weight on the paw, mark the tip of the longest toe (nail included) and the back of the pad, and measure the straight line between them. Measure three times and take the largest reading.

Measured flat; the material has stretch, so allow for slight variation. Growing puppy — size up one. Uneven paws — go by the larger one.
