The problem with most dog raincoats is that they only cover the bit that stays clean anyway. The back gets a cape; the legs and belly come home caked.

This is a full suit. Four legs, belly, chest, and a hood sewn into the body rather than clipped on, so it doesn't slide sideways the moment your dog shakes. The outer is a windproof shell with a water-repellent finish — rain beads up and rolls off, mud brushes off once it dries, and your dog goes straight back in the car instead of straight into the bath.

Inside it's lined with a soft grid mesh that doesn't cling or drag on fur. The hook-and-loop is moulded rather than woven, which matters more than it sounds: standard Velcro catches on a coated dog every time it's pulled open.

There's a leash opening at the collar, an adjustable strap at the neck, a drawcord on the hood, and reflective piping running down both sides for evening walks.

A note on what this is: it's a windproof, water-repellent shell, not a storm jacket. It handles showers, wind, wet grass and mud comfortably. In sustained heavy rain it will eventually wet through.

Sizing

Measure your dog's chest at the widest point just behind the front legs, and the back from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

The first three columns are the jacket's measurements, not your dog's. Between two sizes, size up — the neck and hood both adjust.

Will it keep my dog dry in heavy rain? Through showers, yes. In sustained heavy rain it will wet through eventually — it's a water-repellent shell, not a storm jacket.

My dog is a boy. Will the belly panel get wet? The belly panel is designed to be trimmed back. Cut it to the length you want with a sharp pair of scissors.

Can I attach a lead? Yes — there's an opening at the collar so you can clip to the collar or harness underneath.

Can I wash it? Hand wash cold, hang to dry. Don't tumble dry or iron; heat damages the water-repellent finish.
